Astrid Elisabeth Jessen is a cultural policy researcher and analyst specializing in Danish cultural policy-making, governance structures, and stakeholder relations. She has experience working across academic research, cultural policy administration, and sector analysis, with a strong focus on translating national cultural policy developments into comparative Nordic and European perspectives.
Astrid is currently a PhD Fellow at the University of Copenhagen, where she is conducting a research project that maps how contemporary cultural policy-making is shaped through formal and informal negotiations between the state and cultural stakeholders. Astrid has previously worked for the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces, the Danish Arts Foundation, the Danish Institute for Cultural Policy Analysis, University of Washington, the Danish Performing Arts Association, and Danish Culture Alliance. She is also a member of the board of directors at Nordic Theatre Laboratory. She is associated with the Section for Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
