The International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) has published the report of the 9th World Summit on Arts and Culture, held in Stockholm, Sweden, from 3-5 May. The Summit was organised by IFACCA in cooperation with Kulturrådet, the Swedish Arts Council. About 400 participants from 90 different countries came together to discuss the main theme of Safeguarding Artistic Freedom. The report provides a summary of the main discussion points from the Summit and focuses on the following themes: Rights to artistic freedom: Understanding barriers and threats; Responsibilities in artistic freedom: Creating and maximising opportunities; and Practicing artistic freedom: Inspiring tools for a vibrant future.
This important Summit report is available in English and Spanish. As the theme of the Summit coincided with this year’s Compendium Campaign (On Barriers to Freedom of Artistic Expression), we have added the report to our background information section of our website.
