The University “Mediterranean” Podgorica – is a higher education institution recognized for its expertise in the field of visual arts, information technologies, tourism, business, law, and foreign languages and active since its foundation in 2006 in enhancing the quality of studies and make them modern, flexible, comparable, competitive and efficient. In order to maintain the role of one of the most prominent HEI, the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica has decided to support the cultural sector in Montenegro by becoming a member of the Compendium Association and by introducing the interested public to the Montenegrin cultural policies and trends.
The Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe, as a piece of unique public information, monitoring, and policy-making service, has been for many years used by Montenegrin art practitioners, professors, researchers but also policymakers, and cultural workers. The need for participation in the Compendium cultural community existed in Montenegro for some time, therefore the group of Montenegrin cultural researchers from the Faculty of Visual Arts, University “Mediterranean” Podgorica, Centre for Contemporary Arts, and Directorate for Development of Cultural and Artistic Creativity in the Government of Montenegro discussed the issue of official participation and agreed on finding the best possible model for Montenegrin membership in the CCPT. Therefore, the Faculty of Visual Arts University “Mediterranean” Podgorica – founded and created by the artists of the younger generation, talented, and creative people who poured their expertise, knowledge, creativity, and experience into the curriculum, teaching, and research will take the leading role in Compendium cultural cooperation activities.
