Matina Magkou is a researcher, lecturer, and consultant in cultural and creative industries, cultural policies, and international cultural cooperation. Currently a post-doctoral fellow at the University Côte d’Azur (GREDEG/CNRS), she holds a PhD in Leisure, Communication and Culture (University of Deusto), an MBA (IAE Nice), and two Master’s degrees in Cultural management, policy and communication (Panteion University) and European Studies (Leuven University). She teaches in various universities across Europe and beyond. Her professional background includes work with festivals, theatre productions, and major events such as the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, Patras 2006 European Capital of Culture, and Zaragoza 2008 International Expo, as well as institutions like the European Parliament, the Greek Ministry of Education, and the Municipality of Athens. As a consultant, she collaborates with cultural networks and organisations on project evaluation, capacity building, and complex project management. She currently serves on the ENCATC Board (2024–25) and has previously co-authored the Greece country profile with Costis Dallas.
