
Lote Katrīna Cērpa is a research assistant at the Institute of Arts and Cultural Studies of the Latvian Academy of Culture. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities (Cultural Sociology and Management) from the Latvian Academy of Culture and a professional Bachelor’s degree in Business and Management from Riga Technical University. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Latvia.
Her research interests include cultural participation and its links to well-being, cultural consumption, cultural heritage and its governance. She is also interested in the interaction between art and research, especially art-based research and its implementation.
Since 2022, she has participated in various research projects implemented by the Institute of Arts and Cultural Studies, including fundamental and applied research projects and state research programmes. Lote Katrīna Cērpa recently (in 2025) contributed to the interim evaluation of Latvia’s Cultural Policy Guidelines 2022–2027 “Cultural State”.
