Audronė Rimkutė

Associate professor

Audronė Rimkutė is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Social Sciences and Applied Informatics, Vilnius University, Lithuania. Her research and teaching focus on arts and culture policy and philosophy. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy from Vilnius University in 2005, defending the dissertation The Idea of Social Epistemology in Postanalytic Philosophy. In 2006, she began working at the Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius University as an assistant at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies and subsequently expanded her research interests to include arts and culture policy. Since 2020, she has chaired the committee of the master’s study programme in Arts Management.

Audronė Rimkutė has published on topics ranging from cultural and creative industries to democracy in cultural policy, and has worked as an expert and consultant in cultural research. Her current research focuses on the autonomy of art and cultural organisations and their relations with political institutions.
